Te Pou & Rangatahi Production Raru E Maruakaītā

Te Pou Rangatahi is a programme of productions and opportunities for our emerging rangatira to develop and connect.

Te Pou are scheduling 4x productions with rangatahi teams across the year. Te Pou Rangatahi refers to the experience of the participants, not their age. Agewise the creative team are generally between 25 and 35. With the June production Te Pou are providing directorial mentoring in addition to producing & marketing support. The show scheduled for June is called “Raru e Maruakaītā. It is a Cook Island Māori show combining both drama and music (live music: drumming and stringed instrument) and set on the island of Mauke.

This is a full production presented for a five night season. Rehearsals are for four weeks prior, with mentoring support for producing and marketing applied during this period, and mentoring for directing applied both prior to rehearsal period, and during.
