Creative Henderson-Massey is an initiative from the Henderson-Massey Local Board to support and enable community-led arts activities throughout the Henderson-Massey area. It involves having an Arts Broker, whose role is to identify, curate, programme and enable community arts activities.

Call for Proposals
Are you a local performer, musician, creative or artist? Do you have a cultural or creative project or event that you’d like to make happen in the Henderson-Massey area?
The latest funding round has closed for projects taking place between October 2025 and June 2026.
The Arts Broker is interested in hearing from you and learning about your creative projects or events, even if they are just an “idea”. For example, it could be dance, film, craft, visual arts, music, kapa-haka, spoken word, digital arts, a publication, a performance, event or an exhibition.
The Arts Broker works with local artists and creative organisations to offer support in the development and delivery of their creative ideas, events and projects, whether this be assisting with funding, marketing, or helping to find the right location or people to work with.

If you’ve missed the deadline, it may not be too late. We set registration deadlines to help us manage timelines and get everything organised on our end, not to cause any stress . We’ll do our best to include you if we can, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Supporting Creatives
Here’s what we do and how we can help creatives in the Henderson-Massey area:
- Assisting creatives to source and secure additional funding from a range of sources.
- Assisting creatives to develop their ideas through strategic and business planning.
- Assisting creatives to develop their brand identity, marketing and promotions.
- Connecting our local libraries and community centre staff with local creatives seeking venues and opportunities to deliver their programmes, from workshops to exhibitions.
- Connecting our local creatives with other through networking “meet-ups” both online and in person. Informal gatherings to share knowledge, resources and form collaborations.
- Seeking opportunities both within and outside the Local Board area for our local creatives to gain exposure and experience.
- Providing Local Board communication staff with local creative community stories and events to share and celebrate.
- Providing Local Board Events staff with connections to local creatives for events such as Movies in Parks and various Festivals.
