Whakapuāwai programme

Te Pou Theatre’s Whakapuāwai programme offers the Henderson-Massey community the opportunity to learn and engage in Māori performing arts and language at Te Pou Theatre. In 2025, building on the success of our 2024 programme, they’ll be offering free performing arts classes, Waiata sessions and Te Reo Māori for the whole community.

In all of these kaupapa we encourage the local community to come together through the arts and connect in fun and light ways. All are free events, open for all to attend.

The Whakapuāwai programme has been run annually as a core activity within the company schedule since 2015 and is supported by a tried-and-true promotion strategy that has averaged 80-100 participants per year for each of the past three years.
