This project is about creating a more connected and supportive creative community in Te Atatu South. This is the first phase of development for the Dawn Chorus and is about bringing people together and sharing knowledge and experience with the addition of practical up-skilling.
Rodney will host gatherings in visible venues in the area, to be well promoted, and to act as a friendly, safe and encouraging environment to meet other creatives. Each week will have a relevant creative industry professional present to give advice and share some helpful tips.
“I like the idea of having a regular 4 hours of my time available for one on one time in a studio space like Zeal. In my dream The Dawn Chorus will have a permanent home with studio facility available… The Te Atatu kindy has offered their space for community seminars too so this could be a thing as well.” – Rodney
Rodney Fisher is a local producer, writer, solo musician, serial band former and much much more. Most folks might know Rodney from hit New Zealand band Goodshirt which pounded New Zealand radios and TV screens from the early 2000s. But Rodney’s much more than a good shirt. He’s passionate about music development and helping young people get a realistic footing in the world of music.
