Parkside Jam is a small-scale pilot event designed to introduce the concept of Performing Arts in the Park and attract local performers and artists to participate in the main event. This event will provide a relaxed and informal atmosphere for musicians and artists to showcase their talents and connect with the community.
20+ involved in planning and delivery Including: Local Schools Staff and Students ages 13-18, Community Creative Individuals and Groups all ages. 400pax audience anticipated local Massey Community from all backgrounds, ages and demographics.
Format:
• Open mic: Encourage local musicians, singers, poets, and other performers to take the stage and share their work.
• Informal atmosphere: Create a relaxed and welcoming environment for attendees to enjoy the performances and socialize.

Goals:
• Attract local talent: Recruit performers for the main Performing Arts in the Park event.
• Gauge community interest: Assess the level of interest and support for the concept of a larger-scale performing arts event.
• Gather feedback: Collect feedback from performers and attendees to inform planning for the main event.
• Provide all local secondary school students with opportunities to gain confidence and performance experience before NCEA assessments, as well as collecting constructive feedback from peers.
