Arts Educator

 

Corban Estate Arts Centre (CEAC) delivers a successful and varied public arts programme, and a busy Arts Education for Schools programme which supports NZ Curriculum objectives.  

 

We are calling for a hands-on visual arts educator to be part of our Education team; to plan, prepare and lead art workshops during both term and holiday time for school-aged students from across the Auckland region.

 

The ideal candidate will have a visual arts background, proven teaching experience, strong planning and organisational skills, and contribute well in a team environment. 

 

Key strengths we are looking for are:-

• A broad knowledge of visual arts processes

• Knowledge of the NZ Education Curriculum

• Experience and enthusiasm teaching visual arts to different ages and abilities

• Personal experience with a visual arts practice

An understanding of or experience in toi Maori arts practices would be an advantage.

The role is a 32 hours per week at an initial rate of $25 per hour. 

Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, hold a New Zealand Resident Permit or a current New Zealand Work Permit valid for 12 months or more.
