Illuminated Horizons: Community Intermedia Workshops & Showcase

lluminated Horizons is an intermedia arts programme running from late 2025 through August 2026, based at Te Puna Creative Hub in West Auckland. It brings together poets, musicians, and visual artists to explore new forms of performance and installation, while giving the wider community opportunities to create and participate.

From November 2025 through July 2026, Wordcore Wayfinders will deliver regular community workshops at Te Puna. These sessions (blackout poetry, collage, intermedia lightbox art, and collaborative performance labs) are open to young adults, emerging artists, and the wider public. Participants will co-create works that contribute to a final exhibition and showcase. In parallel, early-to-mid career artists will be matched into trios and supported through structured development, mentorship, and rehearsal at Te Puna.

These artists will present original intermedia works at the Illuminated Horizons showcase and exhibition in August 2026.

The programme will also include smaller activations and pop-up performances in the lead-up, growing visibility and engagement.

About Wordcore Wayfinders

Wordcore Wayfinders is a organisation that works with the intersection of performance, music and visual art in the form of Immersive Shows and Exhibitions. They have just completed their first year supported (in kind) by Te Puna Creative Hub with their first major stage show. They have been running regular monthly community workshops at Te Puna Creative Hub and are looking at establishing all of their workshops, activations and shows at the Te Puna Creative Hub and Henderson-Massey area. Wordcore Wayfinders are all west auckland based artists running the organisation and work closely with Click Studios as well and several local artists and practitioners.
